Introducing ɳSelf Memberships

Today we are launching ɳSelf Memberships. The short version: the CLI stays free forever. Memberships unlock pro plugins and community access. Pricing starts at $9.99/year.

What is not changing

The nself CLI, nself Admin, all 16 free plugins, and the entire core stack are MIT licensed. Free for everyone, commercial use included, no restrictions. This will never change.

You can run a full production backend with PostgreSQL, Hasura GraphQL, Auth, Storage, Nginx, Redis, monitoring, multi-tenancy, white-label, Kubernetes, and 16 plugins without paying anything. That is the product. Not a trial, not a demo.

What memberships add

Memberships unlock two things: pro plugins and community access.

Pro ($9.99/year): 53 plugins covering commerce (Stripe, Shopify, PayPal), productivity (Google Workspace, CMS, calendar), communications (chat, LiveKit video, notifications), media (streaming, recording, photos), and more. Plus access to the community forum.

Max ($19.99/year): Everything in Pro plus the ɳClaw AI suite. Six plugins that add a personal AI assistant to your server: nself-ai (multi-model routing with Claude, GPT, Gemini, Ollama), nself-claw (agent runtime with memory and tools), nself-claw-web (browser UI), nself-mux (intelligent email pipeline), nself-voice (TTS, STT, wake word), and nself-browser (headless automation). Plus priority community access.

Business ($99/year) and Enterprise (up to $999/year) are coming later for teams that need SLA guarantees, priority support, and custom plugin development.

Why this model

We tried the other approach. "Commercial license required" sounds reasonable until you realize it creates friction for the exact people you want using your tool. Nobody evaluates a CLI by reading a license page first.

Making the core truly free removes that friction. Developers install it, use it, and only think about paying when they need something the free tier does not have. The 16 free plugins cover a lot of ground. When a project grows enough to need Stripe integration, scheduled jobs, AI features, or video conferencing, those are real needs backed by real value. That is when a $9.99/year or $19.99/year membership makes sense.

Launch pricing

Current prices are launch rates. As the plugin ecosystem grows, prices may increase for new members. But early members keep their rate for as long as their membership stays active.

How to join

Visit nself.org/pricing and pick your tier. You will get a membership key by email. Set it on your server:
