# Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to cloud.nself.org, task.nself.org, claw.nself.org, and any nSelf-managed hosted services (collectively, the "Service"). Self-hosted nSelf instances are your own responsibility.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

### Illegal Content and Activity - Store, transmit, or distribute any content that violates applicable law - Store or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) - Facilitate human trafficking, terrorism, or other criminal activity

### Spam and Abuse - Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or phishing communications - Host phishing pages, malware, ransomware, or botnets - Harvest email addresses or personal data from other users

### Infrastructure Abuse - Mine cryptocurrency on our infrastructure - Launch denial-of-service attacks against any target (including our own) - Conduct port scanning or vulnerability scanning of our infrastructure without written authorization - Attempt to access other users' data, accounts, or infrastructure partitions

### Licensing and IP - Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from Pro plugins beyond what is permitted by applicable law (e.g., EU Software Directive interoperability exceptions) - Circumvent license validation, telemetry, or other technical protection measures - Resell access to the Service or redistribute Pro plugins without a reseller agreement - Share, publish, or transfer your license key to third parties

### Export Controls - Use the Service in violation of any applicable export control or sanctions law - Access the Service from a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive US sanctions (see [Terms of Service](/legal/terms) Section 13)

Enforcement

### Process

1. **Notice:** We will attempt to contact you before taking action, except in cases requiring immediate response (CSAM, active attacks, legal obligation) 2. **Suspension:** We may suspend your account while we investigate a potential violation 3. **Termination:** Confirmed violations result in account termination with 30 days' notice for non-urgent violations, or immediate termination for severe violations

### Mandatory Reporting

- **CSAM:** Reported to NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) immediately. Evidence preserved as required by 18 U.S.C. 2258A. - **Illegal content:** Reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities as required by applicable law.

### Appeals

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, email legal@nself.org within 30 days with your account details and explanation.

Report abuse to abuse@nself.org. Include as much detail as possible: URLs, screenshots, timestamps, and a description of the violation.
